The Company is commercializing a new low-cost, simple, fuel-flexible, easy starting and robust solid oxide fuel cell that is currently in numerous field tests. Acumentrics’ tubular solid oxide fuel cells (T-SOFC) avoid many of the problems which plague other fuel cells and could revolutionize the generation of power in small and large scales.

AgencyPort Insurance Services, Inc. Finalist (2007)

Global Relief Technologies, LLC Finalist (2007)

Global Relief Technologies, LLC, GRT is simplifying the process of efficiently and accurately collecting and transmitting data from remote field locations through a unique, integrated solution that combines sector-specific applications, mapping imagery and layering, database management and satellite/cellular technology. Data gathering is streamlined via easy-to-use, standardized formats available on handheld and laptop computers. GreenFuel Technologies Corporation Finalist (2007)

GreenFuel Technologies Corporation, With more than a dozen pending patents, GreenFuel Technologies Corporation is a recognized leader in the development of algae bioreactor systems that recycle carbon dioxide into clean renewable biofuels. GreenFuel Technologies Corporation is winner of both the “2006 Platts Global Energy Award for Energy Emission Project of the Year,” and the “2006 Frost & Sullivan Innovation of the Year Award – Biofuels.” Founded in 2001, the company is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Hydroid LLC Finalist (2007)

Metabolix, Inc. Finalist (2007)

Metabolix, Inc., Founded in 1992, Metabolix is an innovative bioscience company providing sustainable, clean solutions to the world’s needs for plastics, fuels and chemicals. They take a systems approach, from gene to end product, to integrate sophisticated biotechnology with advanced industrial practice. In 2006, Metabolix formed Telles, a 50/50 joint venture with Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), to commercialize Mirel natural plastics.

Minerva Biotechnologies Corp. Finalist (2007)

Minerva Biotechnologies Corp., Minerva developed the first method of forming “biochip” surfaces on nanoparticles. They achieved nanometer control over the placement of each molecule on the particle surface using molecular self-assembly techniques. In business since 1999, Minerva is now at the commercialization stage. The company will make money selling nanoparticles and kits to the R&D community and leveraging its IP position for cancer drugs and diagnostics.
