Cambrooke Foods LLC Winner (2008)

Cambrooke Foods LLC, Cambrooke Foods has changed the way people with inborn errors of protein metabolism (rare metabolic disorders that affect 1 in 12,000 people) experience their diet and life. Cambrooke has developed patent pending formulations that blend amino acids into good tasting food accompaniments like dressings, sauces, sorbet stix and fruit flavored beverages.  Not only do they taste good, but they are food-friendly instead of being medicine-like, which is standard in the market.

Interise (formerly InnerCity Entrepreneurs) Winner (2008)

Interise promotes job creation, wealth generation, and community development by helping a diverse group of urban entrepreneurs to strengthen and grow their existing businesses. ICE believes that the most effective way to address poverty and joblessness in urban communities is by infusing resources into existing small businesses that have a proven track record of success. These growing small businesses are better equipped to become leaders in their respective communities and stimulate job growth.

Luminus Devices Winner (2008)

Luminus Devices, Luminus Devices, Inc. develops and manufactures high performance solid state light sources for a variety of illumination applications, including high definition TVs, video projectors, avionics displays, and lighting systems.  Its patented PhlatLight (Photonic Lattice) LED products are the brightest and most versatile solid state light sources available today and are enabling innovative products and applications never before possible.

Market Forge Industries Winner (2008)

Market Forge Industries, Market Forge is a manufacturer of industrial and commercial sized cooking and sterilization equipment.  They have been in business for 110 years, and continue to strive for perfection within its vast line of cooking models. From the innovative boilers to the new line of Purr-fect Height equipment; including models that combine with steam shell griddle technology.

X Café Winner (2008)

X Café, X Cafe is the leading manufacturer of shelf-stable coffee extracts in the United States.  They developed and patented extraction technology enabling them to efficiently extract all the flavor and fragrance from freshly roasted Arabica coffee. The extract has numerous applications including a bag-in-a-box   coffee on-demand program serving the foodservice industry where its convenience, consistency, and ease of use offers a significant advantage over traditional methods.

Year Up Winner (2008)

Year Up, Year Up’s mission is to close the Opportunity Divide by providing urban young adults with the skills, experience and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education through a high-support, high expectation model that combines marketable job skills, stipends, corporate apprenticeships, college credit, a behavior management system and comprehensive support to place these young adults on a viable path to economic self-sufficiency.

cMarket Finalist (2008)

cMarket, cMarket is a five year-old, specialty e-commerce company that has built the leading cause marketplace powered by an internet based auction platform for fundraisers. The company is considered the market leader with over 3,000 name brand clients. cMarket is poised to capitalize on powerful market forces that include the growing interest in philanthropy and Internet based fundraising. In 2007 the company launched BiddingForGood.com, which is a consumer bidding portal that aggregates all active cMarket auctions for the cause minded serial shopper.

Global Relief Technologies, Inc. Finalist (2008)

Global Relief Technologies, Inc., GRT has simplified the process of efficiently and accurately collecting/transmitting data from remote field locations through a unique, integrated solution that combines sector-specific applications, mapping imagery and layering, database management and satellite/cellular technology.  Data gathering is streamlined via easy-to-use, standardized formats available on PDA’s and laptops. GRT’s Virtual Network Operations Center provides a centralized, relational DBMS in a secure environment.

Kiva Systems, Inc. Finalist (2008)

Kiva Systems, Inc., The Kiva Mobile Fulfillment System (Kiva MFS) uses a breakthrough new approach to order fulfillment - one that simultaneously improves productivity, speed, accuracy, and flexibility. With the Kiva MFS, operators stand still while the products come to them. Pallets, cases, and orders are stored on inventory pods that are picked up and moved by a fleet of mobile robotic drive units.  As a result, any product can go to any operator.

Revolabs, Inc. Finalist (2008)

Revolabs, Inc., Revolabs, Inc. delivers innovative, state-of-the-art wireless products to the enterprise collaboration space.  The Revolabs products are geared towards facilitating natural interaction and mobility in business and professional applications. Revolabs MaxFlex™ technology allows their products to be interchangeable and seamless for multiple applications.
